The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered that the allotment of tenders for Mohali's 783-crore Next Generation Roads Programme be deferred pending the outcome of a writ petition filed by GMADA-registered contractors. The petition challenges the January 11 tender notice, alleging exclusion of existing contractors, lack of joint venture provisions, and absence of a detailed project report. The court directed the state to file a detailed reply and adjourned the matter to April 1, effectively pausing the project and deferring bid openings to March 27.
