The Commissionerate of Health and Family Welfare Services has issued new guidelines for district-level medical boards to determine the age of juveniles in conflict with the law. These boards must comprise a physiologist, dental expert, radiologist, and forensic expert. The guidelines emphasize that only these constituted boards, coordinated by the district surgeon, can conduct age assessments, excluding individual practitioners. A physiologist from the nearest Medical College will be co-opted if a district-level post is unavailable.
