
Ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay unveiled his party's manifesto, promising free higher education for children of small and marginal farmers owning less than two acres of land, provided no family member is a government employee. He also pledged loan waivers for farmers with land holdings under five acres and vowed strict action against corruption. Vijay described the polls as an "oceanic emotion" and urged voters to give TVK a chance to govern.
