Southern Railway stated that a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is not mandatory for opening the Mahakalipadpu Railway Under Bridge (RuB) to public traffic, contrary to claims by Mangaluru Smart City officials. The railway division confirmed its portion of the work was completed by December 15. They clarified that the bridge can be opened once the remaining approach and allied works under local authorities' jurisdiction are finished, dispelling any impression of delay caused by the Railways.
