Former Tunisian Prime Minister Ali Larayedh was sentenced to 24 years in prison for allegedly facilitating Tunisian jihadists' travel to Syria. Larayedh, who served from 2013 to 2014 and has been detained since 2022, denies the charges and plans to appeal. His party, Ennahda, claims the case is politically motivated amid President Kais Saied's consolidation of power. The trial included seven other defendants, with sentences ranging from three to 24 years.
