
The Haryana government has banned the manufacture, sale, and distribution of oral formulations containing more than 100 mg of Nimesulide, a pain and fever medication. This decision, effective immediately, follows a similar ban by the central government and is based on scientific evidence indicating potential health risks associated with high-dose Nimesulide, while safer alternatives exist. Health Minister Arti Singh Rao stated the government prioritizes public health and will not compromise on safety, with strict compliance measures and penalties for violations enforced.
