Railways Warn Pensioners of PPO Update Scams Amid Strengthened Cybersecurity Measures

The Railways Ministry has warned pensioners against scams involving fake messages and calls claiming to update pension payment orders (PPOs) or service records, clarifying that no official requests bank details, OTPs, or passwords. Pensioners are urged to report suspicious contacts to authorities. Meanwhile, enhanced cybersecurity measures, including Aadhaar-based authentication, led to the deactivation of 3.03 crore suspicious user IDs and blocked over 60 billion malicious bot requests in 2025, protecting the e-ticketing system's integrity.
