Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath denied these claims, calling them misinformation and accusing political opponents of spreading falsehoods, including AI-generated images. Opposition leaders, including Congress figures Digvijaya Singh and Ajay Rai, criticized the demolition of heritage sites, demanding transparency and preservation of cultural legacy. Authorities stated that only a platform was removed and idols were safely relocated.
