SAD Appeals to Punjab Governor Over Security Concerns for Jailed Leader Majithia

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, alleging the state government has taken insufficient measures to protect jailed party leader Bikram Singh Majithia despite intelligence warnings of threats to his life. The SAD urged the governor to intervene, citing violations of Majithia's fundamental rights and expressing distrust in the Aam Aadmi Party government's handling of his security. Majithia, arrested in a disproportionate assets case, is currently held in Nabha jail, where concerns about intrusive surveillance have also been raised.
