A proposal to privatize the BBMB DAV Public School in Talwara, Punjab, has ignited widespread local protest, with residents fearing it's a pretext to transfer the school to RSS-linked organizations. Protesters, led by the Joint Action Committee of BBMB DAV Bachao Morcha, marched to the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) headquarters. A leader's brief detention by Chandigarh Police before the march led to further protests at Punjab University, resulting in his release and a meeting with BBMB officials.
