Following the nomination withdrawal deadline for the Mumbai civic polls, 1,729 candidates remain in the electoral contest. Initially, 11,391 nomination forms were distributed, with 2,516 filed by the deadline. After scrutiny, 164 nominations were rejected, and 2,185 were declared valid. A total of 453 candidates withdrew their nominations on Friday, leaving 1,729 to compete in the BMC general elections.
