
Maharashtra will hold elections for 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis on February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 7. The State Election Commission announced the schedule following a Supreme Court extension of the deadline for local body polls. The elections will occur in districts where caste-based reservation does not exceed the 50% cap. Over 2.09 crore voters are eligible, and arrangements include 25,482 polling stations with special facilities for certain groups.
