
The US Department of Labor has announced $81 million in grants under the RESTART initiative to support job training and apprenticeships for formerly incarcerated individuals. The funding aims to help participants gain skills in skilled trades, advanced manufacturing, and digital fields to improve employment outcomes. Grants will support up to 20 projects nationwide, prioritizing partnerships with reentry organizations, apprenticeship sponsors, and employers. Funding is allocated to national, regional, state, territorial, and tribal programs to sustain workforce development efforts.
