Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has requested former Congress president Sonia Gandhi to return Jawaharlal Nehru's personal letters and documents to the Prime Ministers' Museum and Library (PMML). Shekhawat stated these materials belong to the nation, not an individual, and are part of a collection of approximately 2.5 crore documents, with 4 lakh related to Nehru. He noted that Nehru's documents were placed in the museum for safekeeping, unlike those of other prime ministers. The request follows a 2008 letter from Sonia Gandhi's representative seeking to retrieve private family letters.
