Manipur Allocates Rs 350 Crore in Budget for Welfare of 3.5 Lakh Conflict-Affected Women

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh announced a Rs 350 crore allocation in the upcoming state budget to support around 3.5 lakh women affected by the recent ethnic conflict. The funds, granted by the Centre, aim to alleviate economic hardships and promote women's empowerment. Officials highlighted women's vital roles in Manipur's social, political, and economic spheres, emphasizing a shift towards women-led development and collective efforts for gender equality. The budget session is scheduled from March 9 to 17.
