Four Ministers Resign from Karki Government to Contest Nepal's March 5 Elections

Four ministers from Nepal's caretaker government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki have resigned to contest the March 5 general elections. Science and Education Minister Mahabir Pun is running as an independent from Myagdi, Communication Minister Jagadish Kharel represents the Rastriya Swatantra Party from Lalitpur-2, Sports Minister Bablu Gupta contests from Siraha-1, and former Energy Minister Kulman Ghising leads the Ujyaalo Nepal Party from Kathmandu-3. The elections follow the resignation of former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli amid youth protests.
