The Haryana Human Rights Commission (HHRC) has ordered night inspections of rice sheller mills in Kaithal's Guhla-Cheeka area to address air and water pollution. Citing the fundamental right to a clean environment, the commission is reviewing a recommendation to close RK Rice and General Mills for discharging effluent into an open pit. The HHRC stressed that timely enforcement is crucial and directed the HSPCB chairperson to decide on the closure recommendation promptly, ensuring no polluting activity occurs until then.
