The Indian government, in coordination with its embassy and international partners, has begun evacuating Indian nationals stranded in Iran amid escalating conflict following US-Israel strikes and Iranian retaliations. Over 70 students, mostly from Jammu and Kashmir, arrived in Delhi via Armenia and Dubai, marking the first batch of repatriations. Approximately 9,000 Indians, primarily students in Tehran and Qom, remain in Iran, with ongoing efforts to relocate and safely evacuate them. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar thanked Armenia for facilitating the evacuation. Authorities continue to assist citizens crossing into neighboring countries amid regional tensions.
