Vellappally Natesan, general secretary of the SNDP Yogam and Ezhava community leader, has drawn criticism for labeling a television journalist a "terrorist." Natesan also accused the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) of conspiring to incite communal riots in Kerala, alleging the party obstructs educational institution openings for social outfits in Malappuram. He claimed the IUML aims to create religious divisions and potentially another Marad-like riot if they regain power.
