Over 5,000 people have applied for loans under Mizoram's Bana Kaih scheme, launched in September 2024 to support entrepreneurs and farmers. So far, partner banks have disbursed Rs 6.84 crore to 91 beneficiaries, with 176 loans approved. The scheme offers loans up to Rs 50 lakh, government-backed guarantees, and up to 100% interest subvention for timely repayments. It also includes a special grant scheme and market support with a minimum support price for five key crops. The government allocated Rs 350 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year to implement these initiatives.
