B. Manickam Tagore Appointed President of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee
The Congress party appointed Lok Sabha MP B. Manickam Tagore as the new president of its Tamil Nadu unit, replacing K. Selvaperunthagai. The announcement was made by AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal. Tagore, also the party whip in Lok Sabha and in-charge of Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar affairs, assumes leadership amid the Congress's alliance with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) ahead of upcoming elections.
