Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized the central government's new Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, passed by repealing the MGNREGA. Mann asserted the new law aims to "snatch food from the poor" and hollows out the rural employment scheme. He demanded its rollback, stating it burdens states and questions India's development goals while depriving the weakest sections of their right to livelihood. The Punjab Assembly held a special session to oppose the Act.
