Chandigarh Heritage Panel Approves Punjab and Haryana High Court Expansion Plan

The Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee (CHCC) has approved the revised holistic development plan for the Punjab and Haryana High Court expansion, which includes about 10.46 lakh sq ft of built-up area with courtrooms, offices, and amenities. The plan, respecting heritage and environmental guidelines, will be forwarded to the Foundation Le Corbusier in Paris and the Ministry of Culture for UNESCO approval. Concerns about eco-sensitive zones and traffic were raised, with assurances that all statutory clearances will be obtained before execution.
