The Bombay High Court has refused to grant interim relief to the Association of Progressive Retail Liquor Vendors, which challenged a three-day liquor ban in Mumbai from January 14-16 for the BMC polls. The court observed that existing rules permit such bans before polling and on counting days. While the association argued the ban causes financial loss and should be limited to polling hours, the court will consider the challenge to the rules in due course, issuing notice to the state.
