Delhi CM Highlights Plastic Waste Challenge, Promotes Recycling and Industry Growth

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted plastic waste as a major challenge to making the city clean and green during the 12th International PlastIndia 2026 event. She emphasized the need for collective efforts, modern recycling technologies, and responsible industry growth focused on sustainability. The Delhi government plans to support 5,000 new start-ups and provide collateral-free loans to MSMEs, aiming to strengthen the industrial ecosystem and promote eco-friendly plastic solutions. India's plastic industry is projected to grow from USD 44 billion in 2025 to nearly USD 64 billion by 2030.
