Punjab's government has banned the sale of non-vegetarian food, liquor, and tobacco in Amritsar's Walled City, designating it a holy city to preserve spiritual heritage. Tourism advisor Deepak Bali defended the move, citing reverence for Guru Ramdas Sahib and suggesting affected vendors could find work elsewhere.
