Nepal has declared a three-day holiday from March 4 to 6 for the general elections scheduled on March 5. To ensure peaceful voting, the Nepal-India border in Madhesh province, specifically at Bara and Parsa districts, will be closed for 72 hours starting March 3. This election follows last year's protests that led to the fall of the K P Sharma Oli-led coalition government. Officials and the Election Commission have affirmed that the polls will proceed as planned.
