Puducherry Celebrates Pongal with Governor's Participation and Government Gift

Puducherry Lt Governor K Kailashnathan celebrated Pongal at Lok Niwas, participating in traditional rituals like cooking rice and feeding cows. The event was attended by the Chief Minister, ministers, and officials. Concurrently, the Puducherry government provided a Pongal gift of Rs 3,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer to 3.47 lakh PDS families, alongside a commodity package including rice, jaggery, and ghee. Festival markets saw high demand for traditional items.
