Manipur Security Forces Arrest Militants, Seize Arms and Cash Amid Crackdown

Security forces in Manipur arrested five militants from various banned outfits during operations conducted between March 5 and 7, 2026, including at Imphal International Airport and Bishnupur district. Arms and explosives, such as an HK-33 rifle, IEDs, and a 9 mm pistol, were seized. Separately, two cadres linked to kidnapping and extortion were arrested with Rs 1.89 lakh in cash. Authorities continue search operations and maintain heightened security across vulnerable areas during the Yaoshang festival.
