HUA Ministry Hosts AMRUT Mitra Mahotsav Highlighting Women-Led Urban Water Initiatives

The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry hosted the AMRUT Mitra Mahotsav at Bharat Mandapam to showcase women-led initiatives in urban water and sanitation management under AMRUT 2.0. Minister Manohar Lal announced plans to expand the AMRUT Mitra model from 1,900 to 5,000 cities, emphasizing women's key role in water management and livelihood creation. Over 45,000 Self-Help Group members across 1,910 cities in 34 states and UTs currently support urban local bodies. Women from multiple states shared experiences on improving livelihoods and community participation.
