The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against four electoral officers in West Bengal for alleged voter irregularities. The officers, two each from Baruipur East and Moyna Assembly constituencies, are accused of manipulating voter enrollment. This directive follows an earlier ECI order for suspension and FIRs, which the state government partially implemented by suspending the officers but not filing FIRs. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had previously criticized the ECI's actions.
