Bengal Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of "vote robbery" concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter re-verification drive. Chowdhury claimed the Trinamool, an ally in the INDIA bloc, failed to prevent the drive despite prior strong opposition. He alleged the Trinamool, along with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, did not uphold their promises against the re-verification. The BJP has seized on Chowdhury's remarks.
