The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at around 10 locations across West Bengal, including Siliguri, Howrah, Bidhannagar, and Durgapur, investigating an alleged illegal call centre involved in fraudulent activities. Searches targeted individuals such as Surashree Kar, Samrat Ghosh, and Subhajit Chakraborty. The probe aims to gather evidence on financial irregularities, with some reports noting uncertainty about links to political funding amid upcoming state assembly elections scheduled for April and May.
