The Rajasthan Cabinet approved the Rajasthan Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Bill, 2026, to restrict property transfers in areas declared 'disturbed' due to communal tension or demographic imbalance. The bill aims to prevent distress sales and protect tenants, making unauthorized transfers punishable by imprisonment and fines. It will be introduced in the upcoming Assembly session. The BJP government supports the law to maintain communal harmony, while the Congress opposes it, calling it unconstitutional and politically motivated. The cabinet also approved new aerospace, defence, and semiconductor policies to boost industry and employment.
