NIA Remands Seven Foreign Nationals Over Alleged Terror Conspiracy and Myanmar Links

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested seven foreign nationals—six Ukrainians and one US citizen—on charges of conspiring to carry out terrorist activities against India under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The accused entered India on valid visas but allegedly traveled to Mizoram without the required Restricted Area Permit, crossed into Myanmar, and contacted ethnic militant groups linked to insurgents in India. The NIA alleges they were involved in training militants and importing drones from Europe via India. The accused were remanded to NIA custody for 11 days to facilitate investigation, while their legal representatives have contested the arrests and custodial remand.
