Approximately 67 lakh women in Maharashtra may lose benefits from the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' after missing the December 31 e-KYC deadline. Out of 2.47 crore eligible women, 1.80 crore completed the mandatory verification, intended to remove ineligible beneficiaries and assess financial status. The December installment has been credited to eligible recipients. The scheme, announced in June 2024, faced a large applicant pool, leading to scrutiny revealing many ineligible applicants due to vehicle ownership or government employment.
