Odisha Plans Service Roads and Highway Upgrades on NH-316 and NH-16 Corridors
The Odisha government plans significant upgrades to its road infrastructure, including adding two service lanes on both sides of the 67-km Bhubaneswar-Puri stretch of NH-316 and constructing a six-lane elevated corridor on an 11-km section. Additionally, an eight-lane service road with four lanes each side will be built along NH-16 from Palasuni to Tamando, aiming to ease traffic and support tourism and industrial growth. These projects have received in-principle clearances from central ministries, with coordination among departments emphasized for implementation.
