AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami accused the DMK government of reviving the free laptop scheme for electoral gain, alleging it was stopped after the DMK came to power in 2021. He stated the AIADMK government had provided laptops to 52 lakh students and would resume the scheme if elected in 2026. Palaniswami also claimed the DMK government misrepresented changes to the rural jobs scheme, asserting the AIADMK had advocated for increased guaranteed employment days.
