CAG Report Finds Namami Gange Programme Underperformed in Uttarakhand

The report highlights issues such as defective sewage treatment plant designs, poor infrastructure maintenance, waste dumping near water bodies, and underutilization of funds for forestry interventions. Inspections revealed widespread non-compliance with environmental standards, contributing to sluggish progress in river rejuvenation efforts.
