The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) has rejected the application for renewal of the fire safety certificate for Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan, which houses the Ministry of External Affairs. An inspection on December 23 found that previously identified shortcomings, including issues with fire doors, electrical shaft sealing, smoke management systems, and exit signage in the basement, had not been rectified. The DFS stated that occupancy of the premises without adequate fire safety arrangements would be at the owner's risk.
