Former BJP Leader Pabitra Kar Rejoins TMC Ahead of Nandigram Assembly Polls

Pabitra Kar, a former BJP panchayat chief and close associate of Suvendu Adhikari, rejoined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) amid speculation he may contest against Adhikari in the Nandigram assembly seat. Kar left TMC in 2020 to join BJP, helping strengthen its presence in Boyal-1 area. The TMC cited his dissatisfaction with BJP's policies. Adhikari had narrowly defeated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram in 2021, and Kar's return precedes the party's candidate list announcement.
