Sierra Leone Reports Detention of Security Forces by Guinea in Border Dispute

Sierra Leone has reported that several of its security personnel, including an officer, were detained by Guinean forces while constructing border facilities in the frontier town of Kaliyereh amid a longstanding territorial dispute dating back to Sierra Leone's civil war. Guinea's defense ministry stated the detained soldiers and seized arms were handed to judicial police for investigation. Sierra Leone is engaging diplomatic channels to confirm the personnel's location and secure their release.
