On March 14, Karnataka government officials inaugurated new Indira Canteens at Bajpe market and Holehonnur in Bhadravati taluk. These canteens aim to provide affordable, quality food to economically weaker sections, with meals priced between ₹5 and ₹10. The initiative, launched by the Congress party in 2013, has expanded with 16 canteens sanctioned in Shivamogga district. Officials emphasized the program's role in addressing hunger and supporting low-income communities.
