
On January 19, the Indian Coast Guard conducted a medical evacuation of a 63-year-old woman from Lakshadweep who suffered cardiac arrest. Using a Dornier aircraft retrofitted as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit, the patient was flown from Agatti island to Kochi for advanced treatment at Aster Medcity hospital. The operation was initiated following an urgent request from the Union Territory administration, highlighting the Coast Guard's role in supporting remote island communities.
