Nagaland Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Talks and Frontier Nagaland Authority

Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, in his maiden address to the state assembly, reaffirmed the government's commitment to resolving the Naga political issue through peaceful dialogue. He highlighted the Political Affairs Committee's ongoing efforts and recent talks between Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging the appointment of a political-level interlocutor to expedite peace talks. Bhalla also discussed the February 5 Memorandum of Agreement establishing the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) for eastern districts, with plans for an interim council and special legislation to ensure inclusive development.
