Mumbai Reinstates 227 Corporators to Enhance Local Governance and Accountability

Mumbai's Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reinstated 227 corporators after a four-year gap without elected representatives. These corporators, elected from various wards, will address local issues such as garbage management, traffic congestion, women's safety, and infrastructure improvements. Their return is expected to enhance accountability and enable citizens to engage more directly with civic administration, shifting governance from administrator-led to representative-led management.
