Opposition parties in Thane have accused election officials of bias in the scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections. Leaders from Shiv Sena (UBT), MNS, and NCP (SP) claim their candidates' nominations were unfairly rejected, while those of the ruling Shiv Sena were accepted despite discrepancies. They allege officials are favoring the ruling party and demand criminal charges. Protests, including a hunger strike, are planned. A separate objection in Mumbra was also reportedly overruled.
