Jharkhand's DAHAR 2.0 school survey now includes an 'Other' religion category after Adivasi groups objected to the exclusion of indigenous belief systems. Previously, the survey only offered Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, and Buddhist options. Adivasi leaders argued the lack of a specific category could lead to the forceful conversion of tribal children into Hinduism. The education department modified the survey portal to add the 'Other' option, which is crucial for planning school education, mapping enrollment, and identifying dropouts.
