Varanasi's Manikarnika Ghat Undergoes Major Transformation and Renovation Project

Varanasi's historic Manikarnika Ghat, a significant cremation site, is undergoing a major transformation as part of a Rs 17.56 crore project. The reconstruction aims to develop a corridor from Manikarnika to Scindia Ghat, enhancing amenities like VIP seating, ramps, and viewing areas. The design accounts for flood levels, and surrounding heritage sites like Chakra PushkarKund and temples are also being renovated. CCTV cameras will be installed, and a wood plaza for cremation ceremonies is planned.
