West Bengal to Begin Paying Pending DA Arrears to Employees and Pensioners from March 2026

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the state government will begin disbursing pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears related to the Revision of Pay and Allowances (ROPA) 2009 from March 2026. The payments will cover government employees, pensioners, teachers, and staff of educational and grant-in-aid institutions, including municipal and panchayat workers. This move follows a Supreme Court order mandating the release of 25% of DA arrears by March 31, 2026, and aims to address long-standing demands and cost-of-living adjustments.
